UPPSC RO ARO Pre Exam Pattern 2024: Important Points related to Review Officer & Assistant Review Officer Pre Exam Pattern are given below…
- UPPSC RO ARO Pre Exam will conduct under Offline Mode.
- There will be Objective Multiple Choice Type Questions in exam. There will be two papers in Pre Exam.
- Paper 1 will be General Studies & comprises of 140 Questions & 140 Marks. Time Duration for Paper 1 is 120 minutes (2 Hour).
- Paper 2 will be General Hindi & comprises of 60 Questions & 60 Marks. Time Duration for Paper 2 is 60 minutes (1 Hour).
- There will be Negative Marking of 1/3 Marks in Exam.
NOTE : In the Preliminary/Written (Main) Examination for the objective type Question papers, penalty (Negative Marking) shall be imposed for wrong answers given by the candidates which is as below:-
(i) There are four alternatives for the answer to every question. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
(ii) If a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answer happens to be correct and there will be same penalty as above for that question.
(iii) If a question is left blank i.e. no answer is given by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
The minimum efficiency standard for S.C. & S.T. candidates is fixed 30% i.e. the Candidates of these Categories shall not be placed in the merit/select list if they have secured less than 30% marks in the Preliminary/Main examination. Similarly, the minimum efficiency standard for the candidates of other categories is fixed 40% i.e. such candidates shall not be placed in the merit/select list if they have secured less than 40% marks in the Preliminary/Main examination. All such candidates who have secured less marks than the marks of minimum efficiency standard as fixed by the Commission shall be treated disqualified. The candidates shall be required to obtain such minimum marks in compulsory paper of General Hindi, as may be determined by the Govt. or the Commission, as the case may be.

GENERAL STUDIES :
General Science : Question of General Science will cover general appreciation and understanding of Science, including matters of everyday observation and experience, as may be expected of a well educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline.
Current Events of National and International Importance : Questions will be asked from Indian Current Events, General Science, General Knowledge. Focus will be mainly on Current affairs of National & International news, Important dates, Current Science, Technology, Sports & Culture.
History of India : History of India emphasis should be on broad understanding of economic, Social, Cultural and Political aspects of Indian History. Indian national Movement : In Indian national Movement, the candidates are expected to have a synoptic view of the nature and character of the Indian freedom movement, growth of nationalism and attainment of Independence.
Indian polity and Economy : In Indian Polity and economy, questions will test knowledge of the candidate pertaining to Indian Polity including the Indian Constitution. Panchayati Raj and community Development, broad features of Indian economy and planning.
World Geography and population : In world geography and population, only General understanding of the subject will be expected with emphasis on physical/ecological, economic and socio-demographic aspects of Geography of India.
General Intelligentsia : Focus on Comprehensional Reasoning, Venn Diagrams, Number Series, Coding and de-coding, Problem Solving Techniques, Statement & Conclusion type questions, arithmetic reasoning, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, syllogistic reasoning, Seating Arrangements.
